Apartment Renovation Planned in VR

An empty apartment shell in Yerevan, scanned and turned into a walkable VR model where furniture, lighting, sockets and plumbing are planned at real scale on Meta Quest.

Apartment Renovation Planned in VR
Overview

The Lvovyan apartment in Yerevan was an empty concrete shell with floor-to-ceiling windows. Instead of planning the renovation on paper, we scanned the space, rebuilt it in Blender and published it as a WebXR model that runs in the browser and on Meta Quest. Furniture from a local asset library is placed at real scale, and the electrical and plumbing layout is drawn into the same model. While walking through the apartment in the headset, the owner records voice notes next to the spot they refer to. Each note is transcribed, applied to the Blender scene and republished, so the change is visible back in VR a few minutes later.

Client

Lvovyan apartment, Yerevan

Year

2026

Project Goal

Make renovation decisions inside the real space, at real scale, before any money is spent on construction or furniture.

Implemented Improvements

Key Improvements

Room scan rebuilt as a Blender model

WebXR walkthrough in the browser and on Meta Quest

Furniture library placed at real scale

Electrical and plumbing plan inside the 3D model

Voice notes recorded in the headset and transcribed

Changes applied in Blender and republished to VR within minutes

The Challenge

The Problem

Floor plans and renders make it hard to judge proportions, sight lines and where sockets or pipes should go. Mistakes are usually found after the walls are closed.

Our Response

The Solution

A scanned, walkable VR model of the actual apartment with a live feedback loop: notes spoken in the headset are applied to the model and come back as an updated VR scene.
